For what it's worth, I encountered this warning message in Debian Wheezy. The reason I'm reporting it here is because I only got the warning message after installing memtest86+. Wheezy does not install memtest86+ by default, while Ubuntu does (at least when I last used it). Could this be part of the problem or the solution?
