The fix DaMiEn667 mentioned in comment #28 never seems to have been mainlined.

I just did a quick test with the latest omap tree:
 commit: c7769fdf6a9c87c6c3ddca0103566eabc5e4db01

The underflwo now longer occurs, so I think the problem has already been fixed upstream.
