Since this is an install-time issue, we'll need an updated ubuntu-installer initrd.gz image to test (that's what we were using for our internal validation of the proposed patch). The files found at

http://ports.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-ports/dists/trusty-proposed/main/installer-ppc64el/current/images/wily-netboot/ubuntu-installer/ppc64el/

are still dated 26-Jan-2016

Please let us know when those netboot images have been updated.
