Thanks for your fix! Your proposed change is for Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick). We have guidelines for what is considered acceptable for a stable release update (SRU): https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#When. I don't think this meets the guidelines for fixing the issue in 10.10.
I would normally recommend fixing the upstream source code for all users of latencytop. The change would then trickle down to Ubuntu through new upstream releases. However, latencytop seems dead; its git tree hasn't been touched in a year and a half. I am also unable to figure out how to send a patch to the project.
Can you create a new merge proposal against lp:ubuntu/natty/latencytop? We can still merge this change before 11.04 is released.
