Comment 18 for bug 259278

I just reloaded Kubuntu 8.10 Alpha 4 again this morning and ran the updates. Even with the SVN version of knetworkmanager, I still am able to see the network that I connect to but no others (I know there are others around). I cannot connect though. My system is a Compaq R4125US laptop with a Broadcom 4318 wireless chipset. I have no problems with the base Alpha 4 and connecting. It's just after updating I'm unable to connect. I also noted the use of what appears to be the very latest kernel in this update (2.6.27). If I load regular Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 4 I don't have this issue. I'll try again in a few days or after Alpha 5 is released. Otherwise, Kubuntu 8.10 looks promising.
