I can confirm that USB sticks do not mount in Thunar under normal login in Xubuntu 10.04, and that the fix "sudo /usr/sbin/hald &" does fix the problem. Now to find the way to run hald on boot. No doubt in the init scripts somewhere but has anything changed in how this operates in Lucid?
