A symptom I've found, possibly unrelated, is that the gtweakui-galeon.desktop file references a /usr/share/gTweakUI/g.png path for the icon.

Clearly this won't work on a case sensitive file system.

The following might help: changing the capitalization to /usr/share/gtweakui/g.png
