I confirm this bug un Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.
For those who can't mount any drive i suggest editing with gconf the key "/system/storage/volumes/_org_freedesktop_Hal_devices_voume_uuid_*/mount_point" as stated by Joachim Sauer
