About the "ubuntu" version number, well it's exactly the point: this is not Ubuntu specific at all; it's just a snapshot of work in progress or of a package pending NEW in Debian for instance; there is /no/ Ubuntu change to carry, just a snapshot of the WIP package from Debian to get it faster. And we wont have any merge either.
