In theory, you might be able to downgrade them using Synaptic and the "force version" option, but there's a very strong possibility that would cause everything to stop working altogether.

But we've already got 20 people on this bug... we should really try to get someone assigned to this if possible. Like some of you, I am a professional artist who uses GIMP, so I have to do my work on a spare computer not running Oneiric until this problem is fixed.
