Unfortunately with ecryptfs-utils 101-0ubuntu1~ppa1(built on my local environment), it gives Segmentation fault.

So I manually patched your change against daily build ecryptfs-utils_101~733~precise1(See. attached debdiff), but it is still reproducible.
