Note, the removal of the blacklisting only works if you upgrade from stock Precise or from the first SRU of CUPS. It does not work when upgrading from my PPA. In this case run

sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-cups-usblp.conf

and turn off and turn on the printer.
