After you have tried out what happens after following the instructions of my previous comment, please try the following:

sudo cp/usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftopdf.orig /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftopdf
lpr -o pdftopdfAutoRotate=false A3landscape.pdf
