Comment 4 for bug 12693

Here's how discovered the issue:
1) Set up keyboard shortcuts on my laptop (Gateway 7405GX AMD64); I used the 3 multimedia volume
buttons (up, down, mute) above my laptop's standard keyboard
2) Start Ubuntu and put a music CD in the optical drive
3) Press the newly-bound mute button; it should mute; press the button again to restore the music
4) Repeat step 3 numerous times; also, adjust the volume level +/- occasionally
The mute button "should" fail to unmute properly after competing the above steps. It doesn't produce
this bug every time, so it's difficult to identify/report.
Also, watch the speaker icon applet...it does not show that sound is muted when it should from pressig
the "bound" multimedia keys.
