Comment 2 for bug 12693

Here's what I've discovered: After mapping/binding the multmedia vol and mute keys to my keyboard,
the bound mute/unmute button does not always (sometimes it works) restore the volume to the pre-mute
level. I must raise it from the minimum. The applet is not integrated with the keybinding. After
troubleshooting both, the mute/unmute feature of the applet is not responding at all to my request for
mute/unmute. I've also noticed that muting with my "bound" key is not reflected in the applet icon
displaying muted. There appears to be a conflict between my bound buttons and the applet...there's a
bug with integration. Basically, I should be able to mute the sound with the "bound" hardware button
and unmute it next with the applet...if need be. Those 2 methods should be working together. They
are not.
