Hi,

I'm not sure that the segfaults are caused by the serial console. Does anyone
get any apport reports for these segfaults? Could someone with this problem
please check in /var/crash? I'm not sure whether ubuntu-server installs any
of apport, so installing the non-gui parts may be a way to get a trace of the
crash.
