This bug describes a behaviour that I'm currently seeing although not with arrow keys. I am on Ubuntu 14.04 64bit with Unity 7.2.0. The behaviour I've noticed affects key combinations EXCEPT arrow keys and isn't an issue when I first boot my machine.

My machine has been running for 3.5 hours and now I've started noticing that Alt-D especially as it's part of my workflow to put the focus in the Chromium addressbar triggers the HUD popup. When I first boot this is not a problem. Other combos like Alt-F pop up the file menu for a brief moment and then the HUD pops over closing the menu.

As initially reported if I hold Alt for slightly longer and then press the key I want then this does not happen.
