Hmm - I may have to withdraw that promise - for this morning, after having
upgraded to the newly issued versions of kdebase (3.3.0a-1) and kdelibs
(3.3.0-2) the problem simply went away! Anyone else experience the same
thing?

By the way, I can confirm the observations from "Jason Le Vaillant"
<email address hidden>, that the bugs seems (or should I say "seemed") to be
related to 2.4 kernels. I have only observed the bug on 2.4 kernels, and
never on 2.6 kernels.
