It sounds like a good candidate, though I haven't reviewed the patch yet. I'm away at the moment, so if somebody else wants to work on this in the meantime, please feel free. The process is documented at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure.

Otherwise please do poke me in a couple of weeks if I haven't reported any progress.
