Unfortunatelly, I experience this bug too on my R50e 1834S5G with Dapper. I succeded partially solving it with commenting out the POST_VIDEO=true option in /etc/default/acpi-support. Now it resumes normally in some cases. However, sometimes it does not restore to the X session. Only a cursor on black screen appears after a while. I suppose that this means that the X server crashes on resume and GDM tries to restart it. Does anyone experience such behaviour?
