I recompiled from v4l-utils-1.16.3 tag with a plain old ./configure, no specific flags, and I cannot reproduce the problem.

$ gcc --version
gcc (Raspbian 6.3.0-18+rpi1+deb9u1) 6.3.0 20170516

I don't know how to investigate further.
Please let me know what should I do.
