Oups, I did not finish my comment.

So, v7 did the required clean up:

  - clean the invoicing method based on order to handle all use cases properly
  - deprecate the postpaid method that overlapped and did not handle most business use cases

But we miss one feature to invoice automatically.

  - if option 1/ works, it's ok
  - if not, I would suggest to do a merge proposal to implement option 2/
