The app built alongside the instructions in the blueprint seems not to launch if xcode tools are not installed. I had to reinstall my system recently - and inkscape aqua wont launch anymore till I reinstalled xcode tools 3.1.3. There were no really interesting console messages - so it may be wise to check ports, files and libraries called by inkscape.
