Please, if you can, try the final patch (it's the both patchs in this bug, together).

You will need to restart ufw_frontend.py to the default code, the easy way is:
sudo apt-get purge gufw && sudo apt-get install gufw
Then, apply the patch to ufw_frontend.py.
