has exactly the same naming as the official:
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/c/compiz/compiz-core_0.9.7.8-0ubuntu1.4_amd64.deb
Therefore, your proposed course of action: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:oli/compiz-place-patch sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade does not work.
There are ways to circumvent it, sure! Nevertheless, it is unfortunate.
