Hi,
I had my stock xubuntu 18.04 (upgrate from beta and fresh install) with 127.0.0.53 appearing in /etc/resolv.conf . Result: no local dns resolution

Editing /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and adding dns=default to [main] fixed this for me! Now dns is the one my router pushes (asus merin wrt ra-ac66u) via dhcp!
