Bug Description

STR:

0. Check that dash is opened in fullscreen mode by clicking on maximize button while dash is opened.
1. Open gnome-terminal, notice where the edges are located, put a mouse pointer at the top left edge.
2. Open dash, notice that on the blurred background image the top left edge moved a bit to the bottom and the wallpaper shifted down too.
3. Un-maximize the dash, notice that the wallpaper and gnome terminal in blurred and non-blurred version are aligned properly

The whole content of the beckground below the dash (but not below the launcher) is shifted downwards. You can see the misalignment at the border between launcher/maximised dash. See the attached printscreen.

Same problem here. The background of the dash is shifted down a few pixels in fullscreen mode. Im using the stable 12.04 release (updated yesterday).

Possible duplicate: #855627 ?

No, bug 855627 has a different cause (most likely top-to-bottom in-place averaging, which always causes a slight visible shift).

Hello Roman, or anyone else affected,

Accepted unity into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

I installed the unity package from -proposed and the dash blur seems to work properly now. Good work!

When is the package expected to be ported to the stable repository?

Ugh, i see another issue, switching dash to full-screen mode does correctly prevent shifting the background. Unmaximizing it makes the background black. Following up in #ubuntu-unity.

Anyway, this is already in proposed so I guess i will need to file another bug.

I need to wake up. Proposed != updates, so marking back as verification needed.

Ok, based on Trevinho's words in #ubuntu-unity the bug with black screen background upon dash restore was in earlier unity too. Reverted unity to precise proper and see it to.
So it is not related to blurring.
