Thanks Sten, that is good information. This definitely looks like an issue that occurs with network events. We'll fix this one soon. Thank you again for your help!

My head's about to explode. This is just one of dozens of issues I'm having. I completely regret trying this out. How do I get back 11.10? I just want some peace and quiet and not have to worry about this BS.

I don't think this is related to network events, or laptops. I've had it hit three times in succession, and no indications of network errors. This is a desktop, so it's not laptop-specific either (for me at least). The install did seem to complete. It was just a magazine, and it's showing as installed.

damianmann, I'm very sorry for the annoyance you are experiencing! The "dozens of issues" that you mention, are they all in Software Center, or just having to do with your upgrade in general (and so in other areas of Ubuntu)? Have you had a chance to report them, and/or find that they've been reported so that you can add your "also affects me" vote. That helps us to know which bugs are the most important to target earliest.

Also, please be sure to keep updating as beta 2 is out and bug fixing is continuing at a fast clip in Ubuntu. Things will continue to get better and better.

Finally, if it is the apport dialog that is bothering you with this bug, please note that you can check the box to have apport ignore future occurances of this particular crash. That, at least, will take this one out of your annoyance list. :)

Thanks again for your comment, and I hope you'll be happy soon as Precise moves toward rock stable!
