Bug Description

When hitting Super+<number> to select a new application the application appears but the hints remain and the launcher does not leave. When the application is already running the launcher scrolls on, the number hints appear, then the launcher gets stuck with those hints displayed and the launcher retains focus instead of selecting the requested application. You then have to click about in the launcher to get it to correctly let go of the keyboard and return to normal.

I see the same actually, even with the application not yet running. I can get the numbers stuck to go away by clicking a different window.

It also seems that whentrigger this the Super key is percieved to be still pressed. For example when you have reproduced, if you now use the scroll wheel on your mouse without the Super key you get the desktop zoom as if Super was held. I have to click in the launcher to recover the Super key and normal behaviours.

In fact it appears that Super release handling may be the underlying issue. If you use Super+<mouse wheel> to zoom the screen then you get stuck in zoom mode and can no longer use the Super key to get the launcher or dash out.

I seem to be able to trigger the form with the stuck number hints using the Super+Shift+<arrow> bindings and flicking backwards and forwards. Particularly left seems to trigger it more often for me.

I see this bug too: If I set "Key to execute a command" to <Super>r, then use <Super>r to start a program, the launcher remains popped out and won't go away until I hit something on the keyboard that activates the launcher (e.g. <Super>a) and hit escape to make the launcher go away.

I tried apw's super-shift-left keystroke. The launcher popped out, the help screen showed up, and then neither would go away.

Clicking in other windows doesn't make the launcher go away.

I found a way to reproduce this 100%, simply hit a Super+<invalid key> combination, for example Super+z. The launcher will scroll out, the little numbers will appear and the whole thing gets stuck there forever. Hit Super to get the Dash, then again to get rid of it to regain control.

Andy, it sounds like you might have reproduced bug 963470.

Remapping the launcher shortcut to anything other than just the "super" key causes this.
