Desktop doesn't start, hangs on splash-screen

Bug Description

Gnome gets stuck on the splash-screen. After killing bonobo-activation, gnome
will continue to load. Everything depending on bonobo will obviously cease to work.

also happens to me, but only after the first gdm session.
