Starting empathy from messaging indicator makes window disappear

Bug Description

Since a couple of updates ago, when I start empathy using the messaging indicator, the empathy window appears for a second on my screen and then disappears. I need to click on the message indicator again to display the window.

This is a bad user experience.

Same here. I have to click the emepathy entry in message-indicator twice to make empathy appear.

1).is this reproduce able?
2).if so than define specific steps to reproduce it?
also attach a vedio if possible?

1 Start your PC
2 Go to the messaging-indicator
3 click on empathy

 -> the contactlist window appears for a millisecond

4 go to the message-indicator again
5 click on empathy

-> the contactlist window stays
