Bug Description

I have binary field on my form and I want to upload file in database. When I select the file and click Save and Create button, it's all right. But when I click Save and Close button, form not close after file upload.

I don't know, maybe bug in openerp web client. I see JavaScript error in browser console:

Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined in file http://localhost:8080/openerp/openo2m/save?_terp_close=1, line 3

Also, form not closed after constraints triggered.

If I fix form field value to avoid constraints message, it's message no longer appears, BUT Save and Close button no longer works.

Hello Denis Karataev,

I have checked your issue with latest updated code with trunk and new web-client but I didn't face any problem.

Would you please try with updated code and provide proper step with screenshot or video so I can reproduce same at

my end.

Thanks and waiting for your reply.

Hello Vishal Parmar,

Unfortunately, I haven't installed code with trunk, but I have 6.0.3 version. May I make video with this version?

Aha. In that case it's simply a case of mistaken identities: the "OpenERP Web" project is for the "new" (6.1) client (I'm guessing Vishal missed the telltale URL), which was rewritten from scratch and shares little to no code with the 6.0 client.

Moving the bug to the "OpenERP Web Client" (project openobject-client-web).

affects: openerp-web → openobject-client-web

Hello Denis Karataev,

I agree with you, you can provide video with your end configuration so I can reproduce same at my end.

Would you please elaborate more on server side issue, what type of trace back you get ?

Thanks and waiting for your reply.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for reporting this bug and contributing to OpenERP. Unfortunately the OpenERP Web Client project is not going to be developed further after the 6.0 series. As of 6.1 a newer and better web frontend known as the OpenERP Web project[1] will be available.
Our R&D developers normally work in Launchpad to fix bugs for the next release, but there will be no next release for the current OpenERP Web Client. As our resources are limited, all further R&D efforts from the Web team are dedicated to finish the new 6.1 OpenERP Web project[1].
This bug will be closed as "Won't Fix" to show that R&D won't be able to work on it.

Bugs affecting customers in production of course continue to be handled via the OpenERP Enterprise (OPW) maintenance service, and this is the recommended way to have them corrected directly in the 6.0 LTS stable branch.
You can find more details about all of this in the FAQ of our Bug Management Policy documentation[2].

If you are interested, you should soon be able to beta-test the new OpenERP Web 6.1 (this will be announced on OpenERP Community channels).

Thank you for your contributions and for your understanding!

Hello Denis,

I do not thing so this issue effects server side problem, We have checked this with server side and did not get any trace back.
Currently I am closing this issue for server but If you still have a server side generic problem then you can reopen this with reproducible steps.

Thanks.

Hi,

I think we were hit by the same problem. In our case it only occurs in the one2many form view, but if I read Denis' original posting correctly, the 'Save and create' label implies the one2many embedded form view too.

Not reopening because of the "not fixing bugs in the old webclient policy" (sadly).

Cheers,
Stefan.
