Bug Description

Binary package hint: electricsheep

Version:
electricsheep 2.6.8-2ubuntu1
xscreensaver 4.24-4ubuntu2
(both from the ubuntu repositories)

Description:
This issue affects systems using NVIDIA dual-monitor setups with Twinview enabled. My desktop, as an example, uses 2048x768 resolution.

When the computer goes idle, xscreensaver launches two seperate instances of each screensaver, one on each monitor, each with a resolution of 1024x768. This works correctly on all other screensavers. However, when electricsheep is launched, xscreensaver correctly launches two instances, but both instances of electricsheep believe the screen resolution to be 2048x768. This results in only half of the video appearing.

I poked around in the documentation and code, and there seems to be no way to pass parameters to either electricsheep or to mpeg2dec_onroot that will allow for correct resolution to be specified.

Hello. Good news. Before 2.6.8-5ubuntu3 (shipped in feisty) I
experienced the exact same issue - I was seeing only half the video.
Now, in feisty, I see the sheep playing full-screen. But the same
image appears on each display. This is really great, but not ideal.
I'd prefer to have a different sheep on each display.

The patch from SF that spot posted solved that issue for me. After
applying the patch I get a different sheep on each display.

I've attached the dpatch that I created from the SF patch. I didn't
make any changes to it. It's working great for me so far.

Thanks for the patch. I have added the patch tag to attract the attention of packagers. I have unsubscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors, as this does not represent a new revision candidate (patch is not a debdiff). Please resubscribe if a new revision candidate is prepared from this patch.

I tested this patch on my setup, and it doesn't appear to break anything. I'll make and upload a debdiff.
