Bug Description

Hey,

I use the tab-panel extension. Starting 0.4.0, when I start, the side panel is set to bookmarks (the first one) instead of the tab panel.

This is a side effect of the fix for Bug #699982.

I intended to give it a try, unfortunately I seem to hit an even bigger problem: the selected panel isn't saved to begin with, no matter what I do.
André, is the last panel being saved for you every time?

For next time, please give the patch a proper commit message.

Checking the internal destroy flag feels wrong, but I don't have a better suggestion.
