Bug Description

After repeatedly seeing the following debug-log output during my install hook: http://paste.ubuntu.com/651735/, I simplified the hook to just apt-get upgrade with the same results: http://paste.ubuntu.com/651938/

niemeyer guessed it could be related to the PYTHONPATH, which was: http://paste.ubuntu.com/651941/

After adding `export PYTHONPATH=` to the top of the install script, it completes as expected.
