I was working with the software center, looking for a program. while I was looking for the program, the message appeared, however software center was still up and working, plus I was even able to find the program and download-install the program without any problems.

exactly the same as Michael Harden wrote, the system states that the program has crashed but it is still working just fine, the only thing not working is the "recommendations", when I click on those nothing happens and I consider this to be a small thing.

This bug was fixed in the package software-center - 4.1.8

---------------
software-center (4.1.8) oneiric; urgency=low

  [ Michael Vogt ]
  * refactor to move gtk2 UI out of InstallBackend and replace
    with generic InstallBackendUI

  [ Gary Lasker ]
  * debian/source_software-center.py:
    - remove extraneous '.txt' for the logfile upload in the
      apport hook
  * softwarecenter/backend/reviews.py:
    - fix crash if ratings and reviews server does not provide
      a histogram value (LP: #805421)

Hi Vincent, indeed, it's the same crash message but a slightly different manifestation of the bug. We are tracking this over at bug 812923.

Thanks!
