Bug Description

I know that the point of bold text is to stand out, but at 10pt, this font's bold letters REALLY take over to the point where it is distracting while coding. At 11pt and above, the regular text is thick enough to hold its own, but I prefer the cleaner look of 10pt overall.

In general, this is a great-looking font!

Hmm. I guess it's a matter of taste, as your sample looks fine to me, though it's rather small on my 1920x1200 laptop screen. How about posting a screenshot at 11pt as a comparison? I'm guessing you're also set to 96 DPI? My 8pt is larger than your 10pt, but my laptop is set to 147 DPI.

And it looks like you're referring specifically to the UbuntuBeta Mono font from your screenshot.

I have to agree, the font is looking great!

Yes, I am talking about the UbuntuBeta Mono font, and my DPI is indeed 96. I uploaded a screenshot with 11pt.

The standard Ubuntu font is fantastic - my favorite non-monospaced font at the moment.

If you open both screenshots in tabs and quickly switch back and forth, paying attention to the first line (public class JibxUtil), you can see what I'm talking about. The bold text barely changes while the regular text grows from 10pt to 11pt, illustrating the fact that the bold text at 10pt doesn't quite "fit" with the regular.

The bold text has a taller x-height than the regular! That looks like a problem with the autohinter.
