Bug Description

It'd be great if ibid could authenticate itself to the IRC server by supplying a connection password.

Sorry, I know of no public server that requires a connection password.

However, it's very easy to set up e.g. an inspircd 1.1 instance that does; just apt-get install inspircd, and provide it a config that contains no <connect> tags other than this:

<connect allow="*"
         password="sekrit!">

Otherwise the default configuration Debian (and Ubuntu) ships should be fine for this test, I think. If not, I can post a full config that will work.
