The name of Ubuntu sounds are "wrong"

Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubuntu-sounds

The names of the different sounds do not describe the true nature of the sounds correctly:

The problem gets worse when the names are translated into different languages in localization process.

* "Boing" sounds like a high marimba note to me - more a click than a boing
* "Siren" sounds more like a faulty electrical starter of a car (hope no-one has sirens like that)
* "Clinck" sounds like a bongo or djembe drum to me
* "Beep" sounds exactly like "Clink"

If there is some technical reason for this inconsistency, it should be fixed.

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Is this still an issue?

Everything in the original report is still the case in Hardy Heron.

We need some proposed names to replace the less-than-useful ones:
Boing -> Tink
Siren -> Clunk
Clink -> Tap
(Beep can be replaced or just be removed as it's a duplicate)

Please help me verify this...

Where do you see these names? Is it in the "sounds" tab in gnome-sound-properties?
They are different in Intrepid...

Also the filenames in /usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo are completely different from the above description...

I just checked and the Hungarian version of the sound settings is completely a mess. The name of all sound and event are the same and the play button doesn't work. Screenshot.

The sounds are better in Lucid, so I guess Fixed Released status is more appropriate.
