Bug Description

Binary package hint: gthumb

An error occurs when trying to import photos from a HP photosmart 812.

When I plug in the camera, I chose to import the photos.
Next, gthumb is started and the progress bar show the text "Initializing Camera".
When the progress bar is nearly full the following error is shown in the frame above the bar:
"Could not append 'DEVICEID.XML' to folder '/store_00010042/MISC' because this file already exists."
The photos are not shown and I am unable to import any. Also the camera model displayed is correct, but I cannot make changes to it after the error.

The problem can be solved by connecting the camera as an USB disk and deleting DEVICEID.XML manually.
Then the photos can be imported afterwards. But this only works once, because the file DEVICEID.XML is created again.

I have tested this with a HP photosmart 812.
Using gthumb 3:2.7.9-0ubuntu1 (edgy)
and libgphoto2-2 2.2.1-2ubuntu4 (edgy)

This bug is similar to Bug #18409 (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libgphoto2/+bug/18409).
