Bug Description

Binary package hint: nodejs

Latest nodejs in ubuntu is 0.2.6-4ubuntu2 while 0.4.8 is available at http://nodejs.org. Since nodejs is fairly new the changes are significant, e.g. npm 1.0.0 (nodejs package manager) needs newer etc.

At this point everybody has to compile their nodejs by themselves (just search the web to see overwhelming majority of people installing nodejs from nodejs.org instead of using ubuntu packages).

I would also really like this. Is there a reason for not packaging the newest version or is it that no one has gotten around to actually do it?

Debian already packaged the 0.4.8 version in Sid, could you sync this package from here?
