Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:
'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'

this occured after yesterday full update

Did you get a "Partial upgrade" warning before doing the update?

After this issue I did upgrade via synaptic with a success. I am
frequent updater may be I had fragmented DB, synaptic fixed it.
It could be better to get a dialogue with a fix broken packages option
to check instead couldnt calculate....
Maybe it is unrelated but I had problems with installing packages with
software center in the past.

Your thoughts in this reflect the suggestion of another individual who said the update-manager should "handle things on its own". Marking as a duplicate of "Wishlist" bug 696755.
