Totem does not prevent Gnome screensaver from starting.

Thank you for your bug. Is that totem-gstreamer or totem-xine? Are you using the fullscreen mode?

The information you requested:
1) I'm using totem-xine backend becuase DVD menus wasn't working with gstreamer (but i think i remember that the bug was also there with the gstreamer backend)
2) Yes, i'm using fullscreen mode. (initated by pressing F when in normal mode)

And BTW, thanks for making <space> work as a pause key, all these years of using mplayer are still haning on to me :)

probably similar to bug #66257. Maybe you could try to look with dbus-monitor if the correct signals are sent to gnome-screensaver and comment on the other bug? I'm marking that one as duplicate

i sort of confirm this bug is back on ubuntu 8.04.1, while watching some movies (maybe codec dependent) using totem/gstreamer i get power saving blank screen, on fullscreen or windowed. I also have vlc on the same machine but i dont have that trouble with. any ideas?
