Bug Description

Binary package hint: w3m-el

So the depends line should look like:

Depends: xemacs21 | emacs21, apel (>= 10.5) | emacs-snapshot, apel (>= 10.5) | emacs21, w3m (>= 0.3) | emacs-snapshot, w3m (>= 0.3) | w3m-ssl (>= 0.3) | w3mmee (>= 0.3)

This is on ubuntu edgy.

Hello,

Using emacs-multi-tty package I can not install w3m-el without installing
emacs21, please add emacsen in dependencies.

Regards.

Maybe you should fix these bugs? I mean, they've been outstanding for
197 and 262 days, and they'd be pretty easy to fix. I include a diff
of the old and a new control file that I editted; the new one seems to
work for me. What I did was move some of the Recomends to Suggested,
and I changed the dependencies to admit of emacsen and emacs-snapshot.

Note that `Depends: xemacs21 | emacs21, apel (>= 10.5) | emacs21, ...'
means that xemacs21 requires apel, but emacs21 doesn't require apel.

So, I recommend
`Depends: emacs21 | emacsen, emacs21 | emacs-snapshot | apel (>= 10.5), ...'
instead of `Depends: xemacs21 | emacsen | emacs-snapshot | emacs21, ...'.

The apel package depends on `emacs21 | emacsen', so you may use either
the above or `Depends: emacs21 | emacs-snapshot | apel (>= 10.5), ...'.

 Is this an orphaned package? This bug is almost one year old, and it
is a really simple fix, a micro patch already been provided.

On 30 Sep 2006 a new Debian version was updated, which fixed only bug
#390103
[1], so the package isn't orphaned.

However, I agree that this bug should really be fixed, at least
because it obliges me to keep emacs21 (which I don't use).

Ukai-san, could you please fix it?

BTW, I guess bug #337860 [2] should be merged with this one.

Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca

Yes, please. I was forced to installed emacs21 although I'm using
emacs-snapshot.
