Bug Description

Binary package hint: gecko-mediaplayer

When it's build with xulrunner-dev 2.0, the plugin doesn't load. But build with 1.9.2, it's working.

I noticed some points :

This package is working with firefox 4 b12 on natty

it's not working with applications based on webkitgtk as midori or epiphany ("Missing plugin")
but if you compile yourself gecko-mediaplayer 1.0 it's working on webkitgtk

Could you try with the package in my PPA : https://launchpad.net/~gilir/+archive/unstable
I'll be interesting to see if it's working for Firefox, Chromium (with the rename), and Epiphany / Midori. Thanks :)

Midori : ok
Epiphany-browser : ok
firefox 4B : ok
chromium stable (renaming all geck...so) : ok

Goog job :)

Ok thank you for testing :)

To summarize, when gecko-mediaplayer is build with xulrunner 2.0, it's working only on firefox and chromium. For browsers using system webkit such as midori and epiphany, it doesn't work. When it's build with xulrunner 1.9.2, it's working in firefox, chromium, and all webkit browsers.

I'll upload a package which build-depends on xulrunner-1.9.2-dev, unless a fix is found for webkit.

xulrunner is not used anymore for gecko-mediaplayer, in oneiric and natty-updates ( 1.0.0-0ubuntu3 and 1.0.0-0ubuntu2.1)

This should be fixed in gecko-mediaplayer 1.0.0-0ubuntu3.
