This bug was fixed in the package indicator-appmenu - 0.1.93-0ubuntu2

According to top in 11.10 AMD64 the problem is still periodically present, unity-service-panel always consumes 10% CPU and can use 100% until I manually restart it.

It also happens here. Mostly when I put my laptop to sleep and wake it back up again. Doesn't happen every time though. Running 11.10. What kind of debug info do you need?
