Text in tooltip not vertically centered

Bug Description

Test case:
1.) Start gnome-appearance-properties and change the "Application font"
2.) Use a font-size of 7, a bold/italics style and font-family Ubuntu (use also different font-families: e.g. Vera Sans, Courier New)
3.) Apply
4.) Hover with the mouse-pointer over the launcher-icons... the tooltips now show vertically correct aligned text.

Text in unity launcher tooltips not vertically centered, it's not noticable with default font size, but well visible with smaller font size.

As suggested in #697791 creating new bug, instead reopening old one.

I would like to confirm this bug. It is not vertically centered with size 8 'ubuntu' font.

reducing the size of the font is one way to reproduce this problem

In VirtualBox if I reduce the size of the font the tooltip font doesn't change.

Is there any way i can upgrade unity to 3.8.14? Currently, my updated system from standard repository shows unity is version 3.8.12. Enabling natty-proposed does not show any package related to unity update.

I cannot work on this bug since in virtualbox tooltip font size doesn't change!
