Binary package hint: inkscape

The new upstream 0.48.1 bug-fix release is now available in Sourceforge. It fixes a huge number of bugs, as described at:
https://launchpad.net/inkscape/+milestone/0.48.1

Please consider upgrading the Ubuntu package. The source can be found at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.48.1/

inkscape (Ubuntu) bugs fixed in this release:
* bug #544599 Node editing causes segmentation fault
* bug #627134 Cursor position markers are not cleared from rulers
* bug #658055 inkscape crashes when opening document properties
* bug #485032 Export to Gimp XCF error when using a default template
* bug #533897 Editing a connector within a group that has been transformed returns it to its original position
* bug #552289 Ungrouping objects changes position of arrow lines
* bug #642417 Will not save .xcf file.
* bug #650890 Gimp XCF export fails when exporting from an unsaved new document

While we're waiting for the Debian release, I have upgraded the Ubuntu package. It would be nice to see this make it into natty, because the version fixes a lot of very irritating bugs.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the thorough changelog entry itemizing fixed bugs.

There is a slight advantage to waiting until the Debian release and sync'ing that, since that assures Ubuntu and Debian are shipping the same orig.tar.gz. That can make syncs of patches from Debian work automatically, which sometimes can save some labor down the road. However, in the case of inkscape it seems judging from the changelog that packaging is somewhat more active in Ubuntu than Debian anway, so likelihood of being able to sync is probably low.

Thus, I think your package looks perfectly acceptable.
