Bug Description

The whole system is sluggish to the point the touchpad and keyboard are almost non functioning. When booting into KDE it loads up to the point of getting the background and taskbar then takes approx. 20mins to bring up desktop icons and other taskbar items. Attaching a dmesg.

The model is a Sony Vaio PCG-FX701

The only solution to get the system functional was to use the acpi=off grub option.

Just to update, the laptop is unable to shutdown without holding down the poweroff button, the ACPI was obviously responsible for this.

Can you post your DSDT? It's in "/proc/acpi/dsdt".
