Bug Description

I running Edgy with only programs from the ubuntu repos on a Pentium M using the generic kernel. (More system info at http://www.geocities.com/ubuntumatthew/aopen1557gls.html )

When I try to change the settings for Synaptic (eg. to show package properties in main window, or any other setting) and then click "Apply" or "OK" synaptic pauses and uses 100% of cpu resources. Synaptic then becomes completely unresponsive and the only way to recover is to kill the process.
